يوم وطني في زحلة لدعم المرأة قبل الانتخابات

نظمت جمعية لبنانيون بالتعاون مع جمعية NDI لقاء في زحلة لدعم المرأة وتشجيعها على المشاركة في الانتخابات البلدية المقبلة ترشحا واقتراعا، في متابعة للوثيقة الوطنية التي تم إطلاقها من الجمعية، وتم التوقيع عليها من قبل الأحزاب السياسية البارزة في لبنان.

اللقاء شهد مشاركة من الأحزاب اللبنانية البارزة في حضور نواب زحلة شانت جنجنيان وجوزف المعلوف وإيلي ماروني، وممثل عن النائب طوني أبو خاطر وممثل عن النائب عاصم عراجي، وممثل عن الحاج أبو جعفر نصرالله عن حركة أمل، والسيد عثمان الميس ممثلا السيد أحمد الحريري، رئيس غرفة التجارة والصناعة والزراعة في زحلة، ورؤساء بلديات زحلة والبقاع، ورئيس بلدية زحلة السابق أسعد زغيب، ومنسقي الأحزاب اللبنانية، ومسؤولي جهاز المرأة في الأحزاب، وأعضاء ومناصرين من الأحزاب، وصيفة ملكة جمال لبنان رومي الشيباني وحشد من الإعلاميين والصحافيين ومدراء المصارف ورجال الأعمال.

وتخلل اللقاء كلمة لرئيسة جمعية "لبنانيون" السيدة نادين ضاهر التي تحدثت عن المساعي التي قامت بها الجمعية طيلة السنوات الثلاث الماضية من أجل التوصل إلى الوثيقة الوطنية لتفعيل دور المرأة في الحياة السياسية، وتعزيز قدرة النساء على المشاركة في الحياة العامة. ودعت ضاهر النساء إلى مشاركة كثيفة في الانتخابات البلدية المقبلة ترشحا واقتراعا، لإثبات قدرة المرأة على استلام زمام الأمور بيدها، والتحلي بالمسؤولية الوطنية.

كما شهد اللقاء مداخلة لممثلات الأحزاب المشاركة حيث كان كلمة الجماعة الاسلامية ألقتها مـمثـلة الـمكــتـب الـنسائـي الـمهـنـدسـة رنـا سـعـادة بعنوان "تعديل اللامركزية الإدارية في قانون البلديات وموقف الجماعة منه" كذلك ألقت مـفـوضـة الـشؤون الـنـسائـيـة فـي الـحـزب التقدمي الإشـتـراكـي الـسيـدة وفـاء عـابـد بعنوان" اهمية دور المراة في اللجان البلدية" .

تخلل اللقاء أيضا مداخلة للـقـيـاديـــة وعـضـو المـجـلـس الإسـتشـاري فـي حـركـة أمــل الـمـحـامـيـة مـريـم الـشـامـي بعنوان" الاحزاب تفوز بترشيح نساء في لوائحها " وكلمة لتيار المـرده ألقتها القيادية والمنسقة في الـلجـنـة الـنسائـيـة فـي تيار المـرده الـسيـدة مـيـرنـا زخـريـا بعنوان "تصويب الفكرة المتداولة لجهة معارضة الأحزاب أن تترشح النساء لإنتخابات المجالس البلدية" .

كذلك ألقت رئيسة جـهاز تـفـعـيـل دور الـمرأة فـي الـمجـتمع وعضو المجلس المركزي فـي حـزب القـوات اللبنانية الـمـحـامـيـة مــايــا زغــريـني بعنوان "معوقات مشاركة المرأة في مواقع القرار" وكلمة لتيار المستقبل ألقتها المنسقـة العـامـة لقطـاع الـمرأة وعضو المكتب التنفيذي فـي تيار المستقـبل الـسيـدة عـفـيفـة الـسـيـد بعنوان " الكوتا النسائية دعماً لمشاركة المرأة" وأخيرا كلمة الـكـتـائـب اللـبنـانـية ألقتها عضو المكتب السياسي الـدكـتـورة مــيـرا واكــيـم بعنوان "تعديلات القانون."

وفي هذا الإطار كان لعضو بلدية زحلة الدكتورة مهى قاصوف مداخلة تضمنت تجربتها وأهمية وجود المرأة في العمل البلدي.

وفي الختام عرضت NDI مجموعة من الوثائق عن دور البلديات وأطر عملها وأهمية مشاركة المرأة فيها.

"Loubnaniyoun," in collaboration with the NDI organization, organized a meeting in Zahle to support and encourage women's participation in the upcoming municipal elections, both as candidates and voters. This initiative aligns with the national document launched by the organization, which has been endorsed by prominent political parties in Lebanon.

The event was attended by Lebanese parties, with the presence of Zahle's Member of Parliament Shant Janjian, Joseph El-Maalouf, and Elie Marouni. Representatives from MPs Tony Abou Khater and Assem Araji were also present, along with a representative from Hajj Abu Jaafar Nasrallah of the Amal Movement. Mr. Othman Al-Mays, representing Mr. Ahmed Hariri, the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture in Zahle, attended. The mayors of Zahle and the Bekaa, former mayor of Zahle Assaad Zgheib, party coordinators, women's affairs representatives in the parties, party members, and supporters were also present. Miss Lebanon Romy Al-Shebani, along with a gathering of journalists, media professionals, bank managers, and businesspeople, attended the event.

During the meeting, Mrs. Nadine Daher, the president of "Loubnaniyoun" organization, delivered a speech. She discussed the organization's efforts over the past three years to create the national document, aiming to activate women's roles in political life and enhance their ability to participate in public affairs. Daher encouraged women to actively participate in the upcoming municipal elections, both as candidates and voters, to demonstrate women's capability to take on national responsibilities.

The meeting also featured speeches from representatives of parties. The Islamic Group's speech was delivered by the representative of the Women's Office, Engineer Rana Saadeh, under the title "Adjustment of Administrative Decentralization in the Municipalities Law and the Group's stance on it." Additionally, the Commissioner of Women's Affairs in the Progressive Socialist Party, Mrs. Wafaa Abed, gave a speech titled "The Importance of Women's Role in Municipal Committees."

The meeting included a speech by the prominent leader and member of the Advisory Council in the Amal Movement, Lawyer Me. Mariam Al-Shamy, titled "Parties Succeed by Nominating Women on their Lists." Additionally, there was a speech from the Marada Movement delivered by the leader and coordinator in the Women's Committee, Mrs. Mirna Zakharia, titled "Correcting the Common Misconception that Parties Oppose Women Running for Municipal Council Elections."

The President of the Women's Role Activation Department and Central Council Member in the Lebanese Forces party, Lawyer Me. Maya Zeghrinie, delivered a speech titled "Barriers to Women's Participation in Decision-Making Positions." There was also a speech from the Future Movement given by the General Coordinator for the Women's Sector and Executive Office Member in the Future Movement, Mrs. Afifa Al-Sayyed, titled "Women's Quotas as Support for Women's Participation." Lastly, a representative of the Lebanese Kataeb Party, Dr. Mira Wakim, delivered a speech on "Adjustment of the Law."

In this context, Dr. Maha kassouf, a member of Zahle Municipality, shared her experience and emphasized the importance of women's presence in municipal work.

To conclude, NDI presented a set of documents about the role of municipalities, their frameworks, and the significance of women's participation in them.
