Presumably another victim of the trying economic times that are currently plaguing Lebanon, we are sad to report that Gemmayze’s iconic restaurant The Gathering has closed its doors and said goodbye.
In an Instagram post published a couple of days ago, the owner wrote out a heartfelt tribute to the family-owned restaurant that had been open since 2012.
This comes alongside an announcement of 785 restaurants, pubs, and cafes having closed down during the past 5-months. A statistic that is expected to worsen in the coming months as the crisis spirals.
We will miss the large iconic olive tree, and cherish the many memories of nights spent at The Gathering.
