How People React When I Tell Them I Live In The Middle East
I travel a lot and am always so keen on meeting new people. This is how about 95 % of these new people react when I say I live in the middle East.
1. It’s really confusing for them. What do you mean ? how do you .. how ?
They usually don’t get how I’m completely sane, open minded and very up to date with fashion, books, and movies. Thank you for that, really!
2. Then they get uncomfortable.
I believe they assume that we’re terrorists in heels and shades. Well at least we look good! ha !
3. So .. there’s a war there, right ?
Yes yes, there’s a war and we live in a shelter. We survive on bread and candle light. NOT !!!!!
4. Then comes the lying.
You can almost hear their heart race out of their shirts. It’s cool, you don’t have to lie.
5. So where exactly do you live again ?
Bey what ? Beyrat ? Borat ? Beyrout ! Okay .. cool .. no idea where that is.
6. So what do you do there ?
uhhh .. everything. We literally do everything.
7. What do you mean everything ?
8. I mean everything.
9. Seriously.
10. Everything.
11. No, seriously.
12. Really!
13. And I haven’t even started
Live. Love. Beirut.
